Near East University
Near East University was established in 1988 and is one of the largest and most respected educational institutions in the Asian and European regions. It has already earned a well-deserved international identity.
Near East University provides world-class education along with numerous academic and social opportunities for approximately 30,000 students from more than 124 countries worldwide.
The university’s modern campus, designed with advanced aesthetics, houses 19 faculties, over 100 departments, 5 graduate schools, and 4 vocational schools.
Near East University is the only unparalleled academic institution in Northern Cyprus that offers programs in Dentistry and Medicine. It is also the only university in the Asian and European regions that provides a wide range of training and research opportunities in its hospitals, which are accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) for clinical excellence.
In collaboration with IBM, Near East University established the Innovation and Information Technologies Center in 2007. Here, the IBM supercomputer, with 40 terabytes of memory and the capability to process up to 17 trillion operations per second, is utilized.
